Darlene Crowell joined Energy Efficiency Alberta in September 2017 as Vice President, Market Communications and Engagement. As part of the executive team, Darlene provides strategic direction and leadership to the organization’s marketing, communications and engagement functions. She leads a team of passionate marketers, story tellers and community connectors – all dedicated to ensuring Albertans understand and benefit from energy efficiency, the most cost-effective fuel source.
Darlene has nearly 30 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, across a range of industries. She was most recently Associate Vice President, Strategic Communications at the University of Calgary and previously held senior communications positions with Talisman Energy and Suncor Energy. Earlier in her career, Darlene held roles with several electric utilities in the province.
Darlene is a graduate of Mount Saint Vincent University’s Bachelor of Public Relations program and holds certifications in adult education and change management. An active member of the community, Darlene volunteers on the Board of Inside Education and as a mentor with Immigrant Services Calgary.
